Christmas Eve

Late afternoon, we headed out to Abbotsford to celebrate Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with my parents. Our tradition the last couple of years is to go to Christmas Eve Service, Eat some Appetizers, Do a puzzle with my family and stay overnight at my parents house for Christmas morning and day with them.

Here is Madeline with her Grammy ready to head to Christmas Eve Service.

Before we went the girls needed lips on just like grammy. You see papa in the background looking sturnly, not on my little girls, they don't need makeup. My dad has never liked makeup so he was making sure that his little girls didn't have too much on them.

Here is Madeline and her cousin Addysen, they love each other so much. They are like sisters, love each other, fight a little, love each other and it goes on and on. I am so glad she can have a close relationship with her cousin.

Here are the girls with their papa, all fancied up for Church. Can you see grammy and papa bought them matching dresses, just like sisters, they have to be the same all the time, it is so cute!

Christmas Eve Day

So we decided this year to do Madeline's Christmas on Christmas Eve morning, since it was going to be a busy Christmas day at Papa and Grammy Albertsons. She had no idea what was happening, but we got her up and she headed down the hall. As a daily routine, she started turning toward the kitchen, when she turned around and made a double take for the Christmas tree. There were gifts and a special gift that daddy had pre made for her too see when she looked at the tree. She was so excited and we were thrilled that she had made such a great reaction.

Here she is with her butterfly wings, she had been requesting these wings since she played with one of our friends little girls. She was thrilled when she opened them and had to put them on right away. I absolutley love this picture because it shows her excitement so well.

This is the gift that was under the tree on Christmas moring. When she saw it she yelled BIKE and had to try it out right away. Don't you just love the princess dress, wings and dress up shoes. My stylish little girl going for a bike ride.

Oh how this Christmas was so fun to watch her open her gifts and actually enjoy them.

This was her first reaction to the bike, absolute shock and excitement. I can't believe that this is her 3rd Christmas, and a Christmas that we are so grateful to enjoy with her. God has given us such a wonderful gift and we enjoy every moment of it.

Burnaby Village

We decided that this year we would check out the Burnaby Village Museum Christmas Display. So we invited my parents, headed to White Spot in Langley, and then drove to Burnaby. We had another great time, I have wanted to go for years, but we never seem to find the time in the busy Christmas Season. Burnaby Village does a great job, decorating for Christmas.

In the old train. We were so close to closing time, we only wish we had gone earlier. There was so much to enjoy!

The Caroseul ride, Madeline absolutley loved it. I have never seen a caroseul go so fast. It was great!

Checking out Father Christmas. This is as close to ho ho that she would get. He just thought she was great. She kept saying it's ho ho, over and over again. She only got this close because he had a candy stick for her!!! It was cute!
This will be another tradition that we will be sure to add to our many Christmas outings!

Christmas Tea Party

For the past two years, my mom, sister, daughters and I all head to Tracey Cakes for a Christmas Tea Party. The girls love tea parties! This year was different again, the girls had more patience waiting for the lunch and their cupcake. I am sure every year will get better and I look forward to watching them grow up and enjoy the tradition more and more.

Gingerbread House

Every year, we enjoy making a Gingerbread house. This is the first year that Madeline got invovled in the Christmas Tradion and she loved it. I have to admit I am a wee bit Particular about how it is decorated, but this year I decided to just let Madeline go for it and put my ideas to the wayside.

Here she is enjoying decorating the house. She put a lot of the candy on the house, but also ate her fair share of candy. We are on a little bit of a sugar detox since Christmas is over.

I have to admit she is very particular in her own way as well. It is so neat to see how much she is like Ed and myself. I just thank God daily for the wonderful gift that she is to us.

This is definitley another Christmas Tradition that we will keep for the upcoming years.

Santa Claus Parade

We decided that the weekend we visit the Stanley Park Christmas Train, we would also go to the Rogers Santa Claus Parade. So we packed up our suitcase and headed to my parents condo in Vancouver. It was a full house there, my sister and her family came and also my parents. We had a wonderful time together.
Now being the first Santa Claus parade we had ever attended as a family, we had heard that people line up hours in advance to get a good seat. So we decided to join in the crowds and wait a couple of hours for the parade to start. It was a really chilly day in Vancouver, so we bundled up, expecially Madeline as you will see in one of the pictures below and wait with the many crowds.

Here are Madeline and Ed enjoying the parade. In fact, they were so cute, that they made it in the Province for one of there pictures of the Santa Claus Parade. We were thrilled when we found out!
Here is Madeline all bundled up, waiting for Santa Claus to come. We had another great day adding to our many Christmas Traditions. Thanks Mom and Dad for having a great condo for us to use when we come to Vancouver.

Stanley Park Christmas Train

We headed out to the Stanley Park Christmas Train. It was a wonderful evening with my sister and family & my mom and dad, eventhough it was extremely cold. The girls absolutley loved everything, it's funny what a difference a year makes.

My niece Addysen and her daddy Dave. Another great year at the Stanley Park Christmas Train, we will definitley be making this a family tradion. After we were done at the train we headed to the nearest White Spot too warm up and have a great family meal. Thanks to my mom and dad and sister's family for joining us in a fantastic weekend of Christmas memories.

New Haircut!

So I finally took the plunge and cut off my long hair. Which was halfway down my back. It was scary but exciting. I got used to putting it up in ponytails and updos. But I decided that now was the time to cut it off and go with a more stylish cut. I just love it!!!

Waterslides!

A few weekends ago we headed to Cultas Lake to go camping. We decided because of the beautiful weather, to head to the Waterslides. We had never taken Madeline to the waterslides before and thought this would be a great opportunity. The first thing we did when we got into the gate was rent Madeline a lifejacket. Then we took her over to the toddler area and let her go for it. Below is a picture of Mady heading down the slide, not knowing there would be water at the end. We did get a few tears, but once she got used to it you couldn't stop her.
Here she is trying a bigger slide all by herself, she wasn't afraid at all. We have never seen her laugh so hard!

Heading down another slide, she had to try them all. You couldn't stop her! Madeline loves water and so this was something she absolutley loved doing.

Heading down one of the biggest children's slides with daddy. The water at the end was quite deep so that's why daddy headed down with her on this slide.

We will definitley be taking her to the waterslides again. What a great family day and thanks to my mom for coming to watch Madeline so Ed and I could enjoy a few of the bigger slides.

May long weekend

May long weekend we headed to Victoria with my family. We had a wonderful time there, we stayed at a great hotel right by the harbor. We did lots of exploring around Victoria and also relaxed by the indoor pool.
Here we are on the way to Victoria, Madeline absolutley loved the ferry ride. She loved walking into the wind and playing at the play area.

18 months!!!

Time has flown by so fast! Our baby is just over 18 months old! She has been such a joy to us. She is a very healthy and busy little girl. She runs all over the place, talks a mile a minute, sings all the time, loves animals (even cats, her mommy is not so sure about them though), loves doing puzzles, reading books, playing outside, help in the garden, playing with friends, my list could go on and on ... I really feel blessed to have been given such a wonderful little girl to be a mom too!!!

Lori and Dave's Wedding Reception

This past weekend we headed to Calgary for Ed's sisters wedding reception. You may remember us going to Mexico in January for her wedding. We had a great extra long weekend, it was full and busy and not too cold. We were a little worried about how cold it was going to be in Calgary because of all the recent snowy days they have had, but it was beautiful while we were there.

The theme of the reception was the beach, so there was a lot of seashells and blue fabric. It was beautiful! Lori and I had a great time decorating the tables, making the cake and organizing the wedding reception.

Here is the wedding cake and table that I decorated. The cake didn't turn out exactly how I had imagined. I didn't make the cake, a bakery in Calgary did, but I decorated it. It turned out okay for decorating the cake at the reception hall an hour before the reception.

Here is the table we decorated. My mom made the blue scarves that are in the middle of the table. The vase was filled with water and there was a floating candle on top. There were 4 votive candles around the table with seashells and crystals. It looked great!

What a great place to have a wedding!

This weekend we will be heading to Calgary to enjoy Ed's sisters Lori and Dave's wedding reception. We attended there wedding in Mexico in January and now they are having a big reception because most people could not attend the wedding. We are looking forward to a nice get away in Calgary. If only the weather would get better there, it has been cold and snowy. I am trying to pack this morning and feel lost to what to pack. I guess we are going to have to pull out all of our winter clothes again. I will update my blog when we get back from Calgary!

Our new Playhouse!

We got a belated Christmas present delivered to our door for our little Madeline. We have waiting since Christmas to get this special present, but it has been on back order. When the delivery man brought the playhouse up the stairs, Madeline was so excited. When daddy got home we opened up the box and got all the parts out and made the beautiful little playhouse. She has been having such a wonderful time going in and out of the playhouse. Looking in the door, looking out of the window at us....It is wonderful that she has a great little play area on the patio and mommy & daddy have a nice relaxing area on the patio to watch her. Thank you Grandpa and Grandma for the great playhouse. Love Madeline

Easter weekend we headed down to Everett, Washington to celebrate my cousin Taryn's daughters 2nd Birthday. We had a great time at the party, as you can see above the party was a Cupcake theme. Taryn did a great job decorating for the party and making a cupcake cake.

Spring is such a great time of the year. I love seeing the sunshine outside and seeing the flowers start to grow. God is such a wonderful creater!

Madeline has been enjoying being outside so much, when she wants to go outside she says bye, bye...it is so cute! She has been helping her daddy in the yard and exploring everything and anything she can. Don't you just love Spring, the sun, the flowers, the warmth.

We thank God everyday for giving us a wonderful little girl. What a blessing to have her in our lives and watch her grow & learn so much. We had FAITH that God would give us a baby and he did. That is the reason why her middle name is Faith. Thank you God for our wonderful little girl, she is a wonderful gift.

A day at the Zoo!!

Today we headed out to the zoo with my sister, brother in law and niece. It was a beautiful, cold day. It was a great day for a walk! Our monkeys had a great time running around looking at all the animals!

Madeline's favorite part of the zoo was the Giraffe exhibit! She kept tapping on the glass trying to get the giraffe to turn around and look at her! It was adorable!

What a great day we had, thanks T & D for inviting us to the zoo! We will definitley have to do it again!

I am so excited to say that the first day was great! The kids had a wonderful time of playing, doing crafts and circle time (they especially loved the frog song and dance). My goal now is to open up my Tuesday (At this point I have 5 spots available for 2 year olds). I am also considering opening up Friday as well. I just thought this was the most precious thing, I think the poem sums up exactly what I was feeling at that moment! Daddy and Madeline time is such a special time!

Blue collar days are long and hard.
He skips a thousand lunches.

Sowing little Seeds 2 year old Program

I have started a new buisness called Sowing little Seeds Children's Programs. I have decided to start my program with 2 year old and see where it takes me. I am starting my program on March 27, I have a full class of 2 year olds ( I am only taking 5 children per class). My program is an hour and a half long with songs, stories, crafts and playtime. I am looking forward to this program and look forward to seeing how it grows in the coming months. This past weekend we celebrated my niece Addysen's 2nd Birthday. She is such an amazing little girl with lots of expression and great big stories. T & D put on a great birthday starting with cookie decorating, lunch, gift opening and cake...We all had a wonderful time:)

Toys, Toys, Everywhere!

The other day I was brainstorming about what to do with all the toys that we have around the house. We have an old buffet that I like, but was ready to get rid of! So I decided to re-create it. I was looking on the internet at different ideas for toy storage, but the prices were ridiculous...so I thought I would just copy one that I saw... The original colour was pine, so I painted it black, took off the doors, bought some baskets and liners ( Iam still waiting for more liners from Pottery Barn), and there is my finished product. I just love it and it is completley functional for all of the toys and of course for Madeline to use.

Beautiful, but cold Nature Walk

On a beautiful, cold January day we headed out for a nature walk with some good friend Rob and Sari. First we stopped at there house and looked at all the sheep!!!

While in Mexico, Ed's sister Lori married a wonderful man, Dave. They had an amazing wedding on the beach, overlooking the ocean...BEAUTIFUL!! Madeline had the privledge of being there flowergirl. Here she is after the wedding dancing with the photographer.Playing Peek a boo with the photographer!

Our trip to Mexico

We have just returned from our trip to the Mayan Riviera for my Sister in Law's wedding. We had a wonderful time in the sun, sand and water. While in Mexico we stayed at a beautiful resort that was only 3 years old called El Cid. Most of our trip we hung out by the pool or on the beach enjoying the relaxation. Madeline had an amazing time exploring the beach; playing in the sand, walking in the water and playing in the pool.

We had a photographer take our family pictures on the beach, they turned out better than I had hoped for. Here is Madeline playing on the beach, not paying any attention to the camera, it was great!

This is one of my favorite pictures of Madeline on the beach, it is such an amazing reminder of our wonderful trip to Mexico.

I have to say that our trip was one I will cherish for a long time. I really didn't realize I would have such a wonderful time in Mexico, but it was amazing.

How fast the time has gone...our baby is 1 today! She has done so many things in her first year that we are so amazed by...playing, rolling, crawling and walking! We are so proud of our little Pumpkin Seed and feel so blessed to have been given such an amazing gift from God. We look forward to see what the next year holds for our little girl! Happy Thanksgiving!

I love this time of year, the crisp air and the beautiful colours.

One year ago today I was 1 week overdue with our beautiful daughter Madeline Faith. I can't believe how fast the year has gone. Now our baby is turning 1 in less then a week, (more on this later!).

We had a wonderful time with my family on Saturday and Sunday evening, celebrating Thanksgiving. Ed's family will be coming out on Thursday to celebrate Thanksgiving and most importantly Madeline's 1st Birthday. We have been very blessed this past year with an amazing addition to our family, who knew our little Madeline would bring us so much joy.

We hope you have enjoyed this Thanksgiving as much as we have!

Today was a wonderful day full of girl stuff. My sister Tanya and her daughter Addysen & Madeline and I went shopping today. It is so much fun watching Addysen and Madeline interact now that they are getting older. I love watching them get excited when they see each other. Addysen gets so excited when Madeline walks just like her, (Madeline can't quite walk without Mommy and Daddies help, she needs one hand to help her along), she loves to try and hold her hand. Madeline absolutley loves Addysen's hair, Madeline's hair is starting to grow we hope!!! Thank you Tanya and Addysen for the great girl day!

We are thrilled about the upcoming wedding, in MEXICO!

That's right, we are heading to Mexico at the end of January.
